How to Make Your Own DIY Dog Wine Stoppers
You will need:
For painted stoppers
– Non-toxic craft paint (Martha Stewart’s line works great!)
– Plastic dog figurines (available on Amazon)
– Paint brush or paint sponge
– Super glue
– Bottle corks
For glitter stoppers
– Mod Podge (available via Amazon or your local craft store)
– Fine glitter
– Plastic dog figurines
– Paint brush or paint sponge
– Super glue
– Bottle corks
Instructions:
For painted stoppers
1. Using a paint brush or sponge, apply a coat of paint to the dog figurine and let dry.
2. Add a second coat making sure it is completely covered and let dry completely.
3. Once dry dab a small amount of super glue on the bottom of the dog paws and place on the top of the cork pressing firmly. Let dry completely before handling.
4. Voila, a cute dog wine stopper!
For glitter stoppers
1. Using a paint brush or sponge, apply a coat of Mod Podge to the dog figurine making sure it is completely covered.
2. Quickly pour the fine glitter over the entire figurine, turning from side to side making sure the glitter covers all of the glue.
3. Give it a quick shake to allow the excess glitter to fall. Let set for about an hour.
4. To seal in the glitter, apply a thin top coat of Mod Podge to the glittered figurine (this will dry clear). Let dry completely before handling.
5. Voila, a sparkly dog wine stopper!

Thanks lovely! Yes, great combo!
Nice website! Gad to have found this. Sarah, the glittered gold dog topper rocks!
The glittered one is my fave too (closely followed by the mint one!)
Thank you! The glittered dachshund is one of my favorites too 😉
That dachshund is perfect!
Where did you get the dogs from? I found some but they r wayyy to big to fit on a cork. I cant find the minis. 🙁 want to make for a dog event to hopefully raise funds for rescue.
Thank you!
These are adorable!
That is such a great idea, Lori! Kudos!
You can find these exact ones at both Hobby Lobby and Michael’s in the kid’s toy section. They come in a pack of 12 I think 🙂
