I know. Weirdness. I’m talking about a Children’s Picture Book on a website about dogs.

But ‘The Dog I Love Best’ really blew me away. The themes, the narrative – I mean wow, they could make an Academy Award winning feature based on this book.

Kidding.

The real reason I’m giving this book a shout out is because they get their dog from a rescue shelter!

The whole story is literally about meeting their new family dog at the rescue shelter and bringing him home. Just look…

I love it. I love, love, love it. What better way to teach the next generation that rescuing a dog has so much goodness involved.

Oh – and there’s little tiny doggie finger puppets. Not since Gobbolino the Witches Cat have I been this enthralled by a children’s story.
