Dog of the Blogs: Chic Sprinkles

Im so excited today to introduce you to one of my most favourite finds of late in the blogosphere. With a mix of beautiful images, glorious design, desserts and puppies I’m officially hooked. So, without further ado, meet the gorgeous Sarah and Coco…

Who: Sarah and Coco Bean
Where:  Chic Sprinkles
In A Nutshell: I’m a designer with a love for animals and huge respect for all things beautiful, especially when found in everyday places. My blog is a sprinkle of this and that, and is here for your daily dose of design, dessert, weddings, pets and everything else inspirational.

Why did you start blogging?
It dawned on me one day when I was organizing my 200+ bookmarks on my browser, that there might be an easier way to jot down ideas and daily inspirations. Since I was already planning on revamping my portfolio site, I thought it would be so much fun to have a blog to go along with it. I was so excited about the blog that I ended up building that first before working on my new portfolio. Once I got started I didn’t want to stop. There were so many ideas building up in my head! Now that it has become a routine thing, I’m really happy with it. I love that I am finally able to share the many things I have thought about for so long, and that I am able to make new friends with the same passions and meet so many talented people in the process.

What are your most popular posts to date?
‘Our First Wedding Anniversary’ where I look back on photos of our wedding day and all of the fun little details. Coming in a super close second is a more recent post, ‘Trendy stuff for you + your pup’. I love that the most popular posts are two of my biggest passions, dogs & weddings!

Tell us about your dog…
Her full name is Coco Bean, but she goes by Coco, Bean, Little Bean, and about 10 other nicknames. She is a 4 year old shih tzu who is full of life and is constantly making us laugh. One thing that cracks us up is when we get down on the floor and play with her, she will start to growl like she is something fierce, but when you get close to her she leans in and licks your face. She even knows what the word kiss means. If you say, “gimme a kiss”, she will lick your face right away. I’m a really proud mom, and I talk about her as if she is our child, but she is kind of our ‘dogchild’ so I feel that it’s okay to do so!

If you had to describe your dog in three words, you’d say….
Huggable, Charismatic, and Intuitive.

What’s your idea of a perfect day?
Sunny breezy days out and about with no agenda, and rainy nights curled up in a big fluffy blanket with my husband and pup are my favorite. A perfect day is when the three of us can spend the whole day together. We even like to wake up early on weekends just so we have more time. Those Monday mornings come way too quickly!

If you had one tip to share with other blogggers it would be…
Cliche, but be yourself. Blog about what you love and it will come easy to you. It shouldn’t be a chore, it should be something you truly enjoy doing!

Sarah’s TOP 5 Pretty & Fluffy picks…
1. DIY Love Headboard (Pictured) – I saw this headboard on every DIY and interior design blog out there and I swooned over it. I met an awesome girl in Orlando who had loved it as well and decided to replicate it. She made two, kept one for herself, and put the extra up for sale. I swooped in and purchased it right away. This is the statement piece in our bedroom. I love it, not to mention it is mustard yellow!
2. Restoration Hardware Luxury Plush Throw (Pictured) – I curl up under this every time I sit down to blog. It is the softest blanket I’ve ever owned. I have four of them in different colors for each of our rooms. They went on sale during the holidays and I went a little crazy, I couldn’t resist. Sadly it is discontinued, but there is a new faux fur blanket that has replaced it in the store that I want to check out soon!
3. Signature Bonz – Coco got these in the mail for Valentines Day one year from her Aunt Rachael. Ever since then I have been in love with this Etsy shop. They have such a variety of treats and they all look and smell so delicious.
4. Kate Spade iPhone Hard Cover – My iphone is my lifeline, and I like to keep it safe and in one piece. This Kate Spade cover gets the job done while still keeping it sleek and stylish. When I get bored I read the back for classifieds.
5. Year of Wishes Candles – I received these candles as wedding gift from my best friend, Rachael, and they are awesome! There are 12 rectangular candles in a pack, one for every month of your first year of marriage. On the front of every candle is a metal plaque with a wish to focus on for the month, such as: joy, fun, love, adventure, luck and more. The best part is that once the candle burns for a couple of hours there is a small charm that is revealed inside like a heart, horse shoe, or martini glass. They are so cute and colorful. Great keepsake!
