We’re all bananas for Dog Treats in our house (us making them, and Soda eating them that is…) so when I heard Sweet Chops Cupcakes had a new baking kit out – I just had to give it a whirl…
The new kit from Sweet Chops Bakery is their PAW-LICIOUS RED VELVET CUPCAKE KIT – a carob flavoured red velvet cupcake smothered in yoghurt, topped with a carob biscuit treat. I swear Soda started salivating at the name.
Posted safely in the mail, the kit arrives in one handy little box containing all the main items you need to make pupcakes – cupcake and icing mix, cases and bone cookies to decorate. All the ingredients were in perfect condition with no leaks or breakages.
The entire kit makes 24 cupcakes that last up to 1 week in fridge or can be frozen.
One of the things I loved the most about the kit was the cupcake mix included Coconut Flour which is 100% gluten free and low GI – providing healthy oil that improves your dog’s skin and coat.
The cupcakes are naturally coloured with Beetroot Powder to get that red velvet look – which also has loads of vitamins to help in your dogs health.
The full listed ingredients in your kit are coconut flour, carob, beetroot powder, honey, oil and vanilla yoghurt. All you need to add when baking is natural honey, eggs and oil. Easy peasy!
Using the Sweet Chops Cupcakes Kit and the instructions provided I whipped up 24 pupcakes in around half an hour.
With almost everything provided, all you need is a mixer and muffin tin to get going.
The mixture provided makes 24 perfectly sized cupcakes, and the yoghurt drops once melted are the exact amount to ice every cupcake evenly.
They even throw in an extra dog bone decoration just in case you make a mistake. (Soda got to eat this one during bake time!)
And the taste test? Well let’s just say Soda could NOT stop at one. She couldn’t take her eyes off the cupcakes after getting a taste for them. Looks like I’ve started a red velvet addiction in our household!
Sweet Chops suggests for an alternative icing, try low fat cream cheese beaten with a tablespoon of honey.
