Beautiful dogs in a beautiful location…could you ask for anything more?
This gorgeous session by Allison Mae Photography proves how pet photography isn’t just about capturing that puppy cuteness or those sweet older smiles…that it’s important to document your time as a family as you grow, change, move and evolve. Enjoy!
I first met Becky and Josh a couple of years ago after they had contacted me to photograph their beautiful Golden Retriever girl, Kea. All three of them were absolutely phenomenal to work with so you can imagine how thrilled I was when I received an email from Becky requesting another session to mark a significant and exciting change in their lives.
Work was taking them back to the east coast and away from Colorado. Not only would they be leaving their much loved home, but the move would also involve a lengthy separation. Additionally, in the time between our sessions, they had also added another Golden Retriever, Harris, to their family. This would be the perfect opportunity for some lovely portraits of their boy and one last chance for photos as a family while in Colorado.
Becky and Josh requested that their session take place at a quintessential Colorado Rocky Mountain location. Luckily, I knew just the place. So on the evening before their move east, we met at the abandoned stone ruins of a 1800’s silver-mining town nestled in the shadow of Klondike Mountain. The evening couldn’t have been more perfect with bluebird skies, towering peaks and meadows engulfed in a kaleidoscope of delicate wildflowers.
Kea and Harris were in their element and thoroughly enjoyed every second of romping through the waist-high grass, earning massive amounts of treats and being the center of attention. It was so fun to see Kea enjoying the company of her “brother,” despite him being every inch of a boisterous and fun-loving teenager.
Even though they both had boundless amounts of energy, thanks to Becky’s fantastic clicker training skills, they were both so well behaved and really made my job easy.
It truly was an honor to have been asked to document one last slice of their life in Colorado.
